“Mockingbird” Game of Thrones Season Four Episode Seven

Spoilers:

Another shocker ending to a Game of Thrones episode.

So much building in this episode, which is great. It makes me excited for all the plans to be executed in the next episode. And from the look of the next episode, I’m sure we will love all the action.

Holy crap, Daenerys! Her relationship with Daario escalated quickly (take that however you want) and she was not afraid to let Daario know that she was superior. Though, when Ser Jorah saw Daario walking out of her room the next morning, he was totally jealous. When will Ser Jorah get the chance to tell Dany how he feels? Hopefully soon, because it has been a long time waiting.

One of my favorite parts of the episode, was when Oberyn visited Tyrion in the cells and told him he would be his champion. The confusion that Tyrion felt was written all over his face, until Oberyn shared with him the first meeting he and Tyrion shared. Tyrion was only an infant and he witnessed Cersei abusing Tyrion.  Tyrion had obviously never heard this story and the anger and somber that welded up in his eyes could make your heart-break. Oberyn said he wished to fight for him and Tyrion accepted.

Can I just say, ew! Littlefinger kissing Sansa was disgusting. I don’t know about anyone else, but I think he was picturing himself younger and that Sansa was a younger version of Catelyn. But that kiss wasn’t even the most shocking. Lysa witnessed the whole kiss and confronted Sansa. She nearly threw Sansa out the trap door! But thankfully Littlefinger walked in and stopped the fighting. Although, when Littlefinger told Lysa how he only loved one woman, and that was Catelyn, my jaw dropped. That is probably something no one would want to hear, but Littlefinger laid it out plainly. Then he pushed her out of the trap door to her death.

When I read that scene in the book, I had to re-read it a few times just to make sure that it really happened. I was flabbergasted, but seeing it executed on-screen made me even more astounded. I’m sure I will say that about a lot of scenes through out this show, but you will just have to get use to it, because the actors really accomplish the entirety of their characters.

Until the next episode.

Most Sincerely,

Jessica
