Spoilers:
I will probably say this from now until eternity, but the women in this show are practically amazing. I will never stop raving about them.
I have a certain kind of love for Cersei, not like my love for Tyrion or Sansa or Arya. I appreciate the edge and grittiness she brings to the show. But the reason why I love her, is that she loves her children, even Joffrey. She has the protectiveness of a mother. Especially when she was talking to Oberyn about her daughter. She wanted to know her daughter was safe and she wished she could see her again.
Although my favorite conversation Cersei had in that episode was with Margarey. She confessed her worrying for Tommen and his future, but inquired of Margarey’s intention of that future. I loved seeing Cersei talk freely about Tommen and her family in this manner, but it was a close second to how Margarey was practically playing Cersei like a fiddle. I feel like Cersei sees Margarey as a younger version of her.
And of course, nothing would complete an episode of Game of Thrones better than a crazy person. Cue Lady Lyssa. She just reeked of craziness in this episode. First of all, confessing that she killed her own husband, per Littlefinger’s request. Then she almost tore Sansa’s arm off because she thought Sansa and Littlefinger were having an affair. Something’s going to happen to Lady Lyssa, and when it does, I will feel so much better for Sansa.
I could go on and on about the fight scene at Craster’s Keep. The traitor who tried to kill Bran, Meera almost getting raped, and Bran almost seeing Jon. I just wanted a little reunion between the brothers, but the reunion between Ghost and Jon was enough for now. Although, I was disappointed that Coldhands didn’t kill the Craster traitors like he did in the books.
I live tweeted the episode, so if you want to read my thoughts on the episode as it happened, follow me on twitter. My handle is essiedarcy.
Until the next episode.
Most Sincerely,
Jessica
