“The Laws of Gods and Men” Game of Thrones Season Four Episode Six

Spoilers:

This episode was one of my favorites, by far. And it was one of my favorites because of one particular scene. I could go on and on about how Daenerys is learning to become a just and loved Queen or how Stannis’s little stop in Braavos wasn’t in the books, but I won’t. I want to talk about the trial scene.

The manipulation that Cersei has over the witnesses and the court is expected, because let’s face it, Cersei is mad. I don’t mean mad as in angry, I mean mad as in insane. Even though I sometimes I adore Cersei’s little one liners or how small she seems when she takes down her walls for only a second, but her madness is the reason I hate Cersei with my entirety. She manipulates and she strikes when people are at the lowest.

Tyrion had orders from Jaime, his brother, to relax and keep his mouth shut, because then he will have a chance to live. Once Shae opened her mouth and told the court everything that happened between Tyrion and her, he couldn’t take it. Heartbreak ached his body, but a new emotion took its place. Rage. His speech to the court about how he wished he would have poisoned Joffrey and that he wished he could poison them as well and watch them die, was jaw dropping. I knew it was going to happen, but to see it executed by Peter Dinklage was fulfilling. It seriously gave me chills.

If you have not watched it, I will link the video of his speech below.

If you want to read my thoughts on the episode first hand, I tweeted the episode (not live tweet. Sorry, guys, but I will try to live tweet the next episode). My twitter is twitter.com/essiedarcy

Until Next Episode.

Most Sincerely,

Jessica
